Portal scoops major national award

21 November 2011, Bracknell, UK - Bracknell-based Portal has scooped a major nationwide award from Computer Reseller News (CRN) in recognition of its outstanding performance over the last 12 months. Awarded ‘Mid-Market  Reseller of the Year’, Portal grew its revenues by more than 60 per cent last year and has won IT contracts with major brands such as TNT Express, National Fostering Agency, Keystone Distribution and synthetic diamond supplier  Element Six.

“We have a strong history in the technology sector and this award represents a very important milestone and moment of recognition for us.” said Shamus Kelly, Managing Director at Portal. “The award is a reflection on the very hard work of everyone involved in our company over and I am very proud of all the team that have been involved in our success.”

The award comes after a year of change at Portal in which it revamped its business model. Unlike most technology suppliers focused on products, Portal reorganised to focus on solving customers’ business needs with technology. In the process, the company hired a “Head of Customer Experience Innovation”, demonstrating the emphasis on understanding its clients’ challenges.
